Cafe Curtains – Should You Hang Them?
For quite some time you might have been thinking about having café curtains to dress up your window, but couldn’t really make up your mind. Here we will help you make up your mind on having draperies on your windows and the obvious choice would be cafe curtains.
Why you must have window treatments at all? As you certainly want to have your privacy. No one likes passersby to be looking into your space while crossing the street. There is no better way to save yourself from the probing looks of those passing by your house. With the curtains on, you have all the freedom of doing whatever you like in the privacy of your home.
And café curtains offer the perfect solution for maintaining that much-valued privacy. These curtains enable you to screen your windows the way you want. They offer flexibility of use. You can use them in nearly any room or place that you think needs to be screened. Further, easy availability in a wide variety of colors and textures adds to their adaptability while adding that spark of brightness to your surroundings.

A very beneficial and practical feature of these drapes is that they do no cover the whole of the window. You may just cover one half of the window, thereby permitting sunlight to filter thru the other half. Not only that, you are able to keep your contact with the outside world by looking through the uncovered half portion. You don’t have such flexibility with full traditional curtains.
Now look to the adaptability and flexibility of use. Rods, decorative poles, or just curtain wires may be used to simply suspend cafe drapes. They can be positioned inside the window recess, at the height of a glazing bar or halfway down the window. It’s so convenient to take them away when you would like to change over to a different window dressing or you want to go in for a different color.

One more good opportunity that café curtains offer is to craft a layered look. With a slight effort and an imagination you can also match cafe curtains so as to create a gap in the middle to make room for a little light in the room. It’s not at all difficult. Just cover the lower half of the window with about an inch or so short of half-length. Likewise, cover the upper half with the rest of half shortened by an inch or so. And lo you have a gap to view the outside world and be a part of it in the privacy of your house.
